How We Test and Evaluate Each Pump

We’re committed to giving you an honest, hands-on review of each breast pump, so we go beyond just reading the specs. We either purchase the pumps ourselves or test them in stores to get an authentic feel of how they perform. Our team puts every pump through its paces, focusing on what matters most to moms.

Efficiency

We look at how powerful the suction is and how much milk it can express within a set time, so you know exactly what to expect.

Comfort

Pumping can be time-consuming, so we pay close attention to how comfortable each pump feels during longer sessions.

Portability

Whether you’re planning to pump at work, on the go, or at home, we assess each pump’s size, weight, and overall ease of transport.

Value for Money

We consider the cost and how durable each pump is, helping you find an option that fits your budget and lasts.

Hygiene

Cleanliness is key! We examine the design to make sure it’s easy to clean and minimizes any risk of contamination.

Battery Life

For moms using portable pumps, battery life is crucial. We test how long each one can run on a full charge so you’re not left in the lurch.

We approach each pump with a parent’s perspective in mind, giving you insights that feel as trustworthy as advice from a friend.

Life-changing pump at 7 weeks postpartum! More comfortable than Spectra, better emptying in less time. Significantly improved output – got 11 oz in one session (9 oz from one side, 2 oz from slacker side). Consistent 1+ oz from slower side. Helping with supply issues.

Weak suction even at L10 setting. Parts started cracking and breaking after only a week and a half. Quality doesn’t justify $300 price point.

I’m only two days into this but man … I should’ve purchased this sooner. I started with the Medela pump that is free through our insurance and it came with the standard 24 mm flange. It was cool and did what I needed it to but it required 20 minutes of sitting down and the milk containers were annoying to wash. Not only that but I couldn’t always get on a consistent schedule which compromised my supply. I was upset and defeated. This pump allows me to move around and cleaning is super easy! After I pour out my pumped milk, I just disassemble and let the parts sit in some soapy water for a minute or two before washing them and sitting them to dry in my Dr. Brown’s dryer setting. I’m also mobile!! It’s amazing. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to seeing how this changes my milk supply 🙂

I was 4 days postpartum, learned I’m an overproducer in the worst way: my son could not drink all the milk coming in and my pump from my doctor’s office would not get it out either. I was engorged for hours. I ordered this (thank goodness for the 3-6pm delivery) and it consistently drains my breasts. It’s easy to use and not super loud; about the same amount of noise as running a fan. Comes with a cute little case that I didn’t see mentioned anywhere so that was a nice surprise. Has 3 starter flanges sized 17, 19 and 21 mm.

Would not recommend at all! It’s loud and heavy! The company also is unwilling to help because it came from Amazon. Any problems Amazon sends you to the buyer to help; however, the buyer will tell you to contact and handle it with them since it’s their product. Completely unacceptable especially since these aren’t cheap by any means.

Glenda Greveran Verified Purchase
I love mom cozy and own a few things from them but I purchased these pumps twice and not buying it again. The milk keeps coming out once it gets half full. The first one I purchased one of the pumps didn’t even turn on and the second one the settings started to get all mixed up. I want to keep trying to like them but I don’t know.

Bottom Line

For moms who prioritize flexibility and discretion, the Momcozy M5 is a game-changer. Its wearable design and efficient operation make it an excellent choice for multitasking moms or those returning to work. While the capacity might be limited compared to traditional pumps, the convenience and mobility it offers make it a compelling choice for many mothers.

“I’m absolutely in love with this product! The hands-free design is incredible. I’ve been able to pump discreetly in class and at work. It’s much more powerful than other hands-free pumps I’ve tried. A game-changer for busy moms!”
Kandace Verified Purchase
“Before purchasing this breast pump, I had two other wearable hands free pumps. I wasn’t happy with the amount of milk I was producing and felt it had a lot to do with the pump I was using. I decided to give this one a try, since it look comfortable and more hands free then the other hospital grade pumps I’ve seen. Immediately the first pump I noticed a difference in the amount of milk that was coming out compared to the others I’ve used. By day 3 (photo included) I was expressing two times more than what I had been in only 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend this pump to other moms.”
Davis Verified Purchase
“I bought the Elvie Stride for its portability, but it was a huge disappointment. The suction was weak, and it didn’t empty my breasts. The return policy is also very restrictive. I’m stuck with a product I don’t want and had to buy additional parts. I strongly advise against this product.”
Barbara Walker Verified Purchase
“I’m not one to leave reviews, but I’m so frustrated with the Elvie Stride. I’ve lost countless ounces of milk due to its design flaws. The shells often come apart, spilling milk into the power pack, rendering the entire pump useless. Even with meticulous care, this issue persists. As a working mom, a reliable pump is crucial. This has been a nightmare.”

Bottom Line

The Elvie Stride is perfect for moms who want the best of both worlds – hospital-grade power in a wearable package. Its innovative design and smart features make it a top choice for tech-savvy moms who don’t want to compromise on pumping performance.
